Autonomous Systems

Re Vision Consulting has developed and tested a number of autonomous unmanned surface vehicles (autonomous boats) since 2013. Vehicles were designed to operate for extended periods in the harsh offshore environments. The most recent developments have focused on integrating robust vehicle platforms with advanced autonomy features leveraging advances in edge computing. Vehicle platform designs completed Todate range from 3–18 feet enabling continuous autonomous operation at sea for up to 1month. Vehicle designs include long-range communication links, redundant power systems, advanced hydrodynamic design, and integration of various sensor payloads.

We work with a wide range of SW and hardware platforms but are fond of low cost open-source platforms including the Robot Operating System (ROS), edge computing to run various AI-based algorithms to process sensor data, and the PX4 ecosystem to handle low-level control of drone navigation.
